Departure from Quito

Pick up at the hotel and departure to the northwest along the road that descends from the Andes to the cloud forest. During the trip, there is a dramatic change in landscape and temperature as you cross different climatic zones.

Arrival in Mindo

Arrival in the town of Mindo, a small village surrounded by nature. Brief introduction to the cloud forest, its ecological importance, and the day's activities.

Waterfall Sanctuary

Visit to the Mindo Waterfall Sanctuary. Option to take the tarabita (handcrafted cable car) across the river and the forest canopy. Hike along nature trails visiting several waterfalls, including the impressive Nambillo Waterfall. Time to swim in natural freshwater pools (optional depending on weather). Observation of native flora and possible bird sightings.

Lunch at a local restaurant featuring regional specialties such as fresh trout, vegetarian dishes, or typical Ecuadorian food. Optional tasting of artisanal chocolate from Mindo.

Butterfly Garden and Bird Watching

Visit one of Mindo's butterfly gardens, where you can observe dozens of butterfly species in all stages of life. Learn about the life cycle and importance of these insects in the ecosystem.

Canopy or Forest Cable Car (Optional)

Optional canopy (zip line) activity over the forest canopy for a unique aerial perspective, or walk across suspension bridges suspended between the trees observing the ecosystem from above.

Chocolate Tour

Visit to an artisan chocolate workshop where you will learn about the process of fermentation, drying, roasting, and production of fine Ecuadorian chocolate. Tasting of different percentages of cocoa. Opportunity to purchase local products.

5:30 p.m.

Return to Quito

Departure from Mindo back to Quito. During the ascent to the Andes, panoramic stops to photograph the cloud valley from viewpoints. Observation of the change in vegetation and temperature.

7:30 p.m.

Arrival in Quito

Arrival at the hotel in Quito. End of the tour with memories of the cloud forest, its waterfalls, birds, and the magic of the clouds floating among the mountains.
